old photo frames, cookies, and puppy corsages

So, I've taken a spontaneous month off work to recharge.

I've had a huge couple of months: a friend's mum died of
cancer and a very close friend is currently battling it.
While supporting others, I forgot about myself.
So I'm taking some time to do nice things for me.

Today I baked cookies, walked my dogs, cleaned
the chook house. I bought some corsages for my
girls and then we did a doggy photoshoot on the beach.
I also started ordering photos and buying old frames
from opshops to make a photo wall for my mum.

  4. Those dogs are just ridiculously cute. Have a revitalising month off - I am glad you realised you needed it, can be too easy to forget about yourself sometimes.

  5. Ah its such a great thing to take time for yourself - It will do wonders for your soul :-) Ive been thinking of doing something similar, but haven't got round to it. And that's the terrible thing - knowing you need it but not having time for it.

  6. You are such a darling, I'm sorry you've had such an emotionally draining time, although you were so busy being amazing you never noticed. I hope the month off does you good. Your pugs are just the cutest and they look so saaaaddd. I just found this recipe on a medieval cookery website (medievalcookery.com) - if you've got time for cooking you should give it a go (minus the sandalwood!) - http://www.greneboke.com/recipes/gyngerbrede.shtml

  8. Aw I send my best wishes. I've similarly been through tough times (cancer has happened in my family too and it's awful) but it's great that you're remembering to take time for yourself. That can be easily forgotten, but is so important to "stay afloat" and keep nourishing yourself! Hope things start looking up soon x

  10. You are a darling ... I'm so glad you're not pushing yourself to the limit and way over it just to "show everyone". I've done it and it's really fucked ... I'm pretty sure you've been down that road too and no one benefits from martyrdom do they? Sleep in, have siestas, cuddle all the furry beasts and eat your favourite food - hey but you're already doing that so you get a big tick! Actually I'd prefer to give you a bloody massive arse-squeeze because they're very healing, just like magical floral headbands:)) xoxo
