Hi there lovely ladies. Hope this finds you all well, stylish and happy.
There's a certain few of you I have missed terribly, so if anyone feels
inclined, please add me on Facebook: Louarna Hewlett.
I'm wonderfully refreshed from my blogging break and I return with news.
My partner and I are expecting a little boy in July. We are beyond excited.
Lately, I been having drama in the sartorial department:
A) Australia, your maternity offerings are a disgrace. I left a huge
shopping complex in tears recently as all I could find were jeans (which
I hardly even wear) with huge stretchy waists, and t-shirts with scrunchy
sides to accommodate a growing bump. I'm no jeans and tshirt lady.
B) How on earth does one dress a pregnant (former) hourglass?
I have chunky little legs (that have just got chunkier) and can't/won't
show them off... so it is all about the ribcage. My best feature,
is now my ribcage. Lordy!
xxxx
Ahhh oh my gosh, congratulations! I am so glad you are back and I am so pleased for you and your partner!
ReplyDeleteHere she is!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look good enough to eat, sweetheart!
XXX
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations! I actually saw yesterday on your facebook and I was so happy for you that I was going to message but didn't want to seem like a stalker... :P
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderfully exciting and it's so nice to have you back in the blogging world. x
Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd welcome back to blogging; it's good to see you again :)
I have been thinking of you almost everyday and where in the world you disappeared off to! Congrats on little Master Tallulahporkchop!
ReplyDeleteAs for clothes...ugh. Myself, I lived in maxi dresses and chopped the length down to fit my height! String tie waisted trackies from somewhere like Kmart are fab. I lost the desire to be seen in public at a certain stage and was quite happy to lop at home in Kmart trackies.... :( You will also not feel the cold as much so will probably not need a coat to have to try and squish into. So any of your gorgeous cardis will still be fine. Unfortunately I also resorted to maternity jeans for said public appearances, it was horrid. Just remember that its all temporary and you will be back looking fabulous in pencil skirts again very soon!
Ooohhh... I could cut maxis to knee length. Thank you. Xx
DeleteOhhh I'm sooo thrilled for you!!!!! We just had our lil boy three weeks ago! I struggled with maternity wear but found wrap around skirts a good alternative.
ReplyDeleteYay!
xxx
That is AMAZING news. I am thrilled for you. I'll pop straight over and check the small man out. Happy, happy news. Xx
DeleteI KNEW you had disappeared for a reason - and this is the best reason of all! CONGRATS!! Such big news :-)
ReplyDeleteAs for maternity clothes - well there's not much out there I know! My friend is also pregnant and is lamenting the lack of options out there. I've found some 1940's maternity patterns, wrap dresses, on ebay and was thinking of sewing one up for her. I just bought this - not sure how it will work out on an actual pregnant lady but if you're willing to be a guinea-pig....

Yay, I would LOVE to be your guinea pig. Xxx
DeleteCongratulations beautiful lady! You should get your mother in law to make you some gorgeous dresses! xx
ReplyDeleteShe is whipping up two like she used to wear as I type. :)
DeleteCongratulations! It's in the water! (Or air..whatever!)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, my sister got a really cute dress from http://www.motherhoodemporium.com.au/ which she says is so flattering for the bump and breast feeding - actually I think it has a breastfeeding top.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll just hit up ebay for some clothes when it comes to my time, as going to the shops can be very expensive
This seems ok and cheap prices - http://stores.ebay.com.au/purpless-fashion?_rdc=1
good luck missy!!
Congrats, I am sooo HAPPY for you both XXXXXXXXX
ReplyDeletecongratulations, you look so happy and sweet :-) As for the clothes, maybe you find inspiration here (http://freelancersfashion.blogspot.de/) as she had a little boy last summer.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Ulrica. I need a couple of hours to study her maternity style.
DeleteSooooo thrilled for you both!! Have missed your wit and style but am looking forward to Tallulah Porkchop maternity style. I have a 6 year old boy and 2 year old girl and both pregnancies lamented the lack of cool clothes. I learnt that the empire line dress was my best friend (those and Magnum ice-creams) and cute little cardigans added some variety. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. Will give it a whirl for sure.
DeleteLovely to see your blog pop up in my reader! You look gorgeous, radiantly happy! x
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Hello and congrats! I'm so happy to see you've returned. This is the best news. You look ever the radiant mother-to-be. I'm so very much looking forward to this new aspect of your life and seeing it here. Exciting things for both of us this year then! :D And you know what this means - vintage baby clothes!!!

OMG, his wardrobe is bigger than mine! Ooohhh... I need to swing by your blog and see what you've been up to. Xxx
DeleteI have missed you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!! Well, I have no idea how any pregnant woman can even bear to wear maternity jeans or those stretchy belt thingies they button onto the pre-pregger jeans without cutting off an artery!!! I LOVE both of your beautiful frocks - you look absolutely beautiful darling - so excited for you and the Mrs darling!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoox
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely! I've been thinking about you often and hoped for the best. Congrats to both of you! I'm looking forward to see your maternity styles!
ReplyDeleteI just squealed when this beautiful pic popped up in my blog feed just now - I am so, so, so happy for you both - and your baby boy!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to write this through happy tears, but can't. Just know that I wish you much love, joy and stretchy fabulous clothes xx
Congrats on the little bundle of joy, you look fabulous - who needs maternity clothes anyways!

Congratulations! I know if anyone can make maternity look fabulous and unique, it's you, so don't despair! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations dear!!! That is so incredibly exciting! You look beautiful and I'm sure you'll find some creative stylish maternity wear.
ReplyDeletexo,
Em
Congratulations :) I envy you a bit. Already missed my pregnancy :) xxx
ReplyDeleteOoohhh...I'm going to trawl through your blog for ideas.
DeleteCONGRATULATIONS! That's incredible news! I'm so happy for you, and so so glad you're back too :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you bloody dare stress about pregnancy dressing, by the way - you're going to look incredible as always throughout, I'm sure. Why don't you get one of those baby band things, so you can still wear all your skirts without having to shop for hideous mass-produced maternity wear? My old boss had one, and said it was the best thing she's ever bought.
xxx
I've missed you!
DeleteI don't know how those things work, but I will put it at the very top of my "To Google" list.
Xxxx
Congrats on the baby!I don't pity you at all though as far as wardrobe. My least favorite thing about being pregnant is what a pain it is to dress fashionably when rocking a baby bump....and if you decide to nurse planning a wardrobe around easy accessibility to your breasts is also not so fun...but its worth it :)
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, I had not even considered a breastfeeding wardrobe.
DeleteWonderful, wonderful news - I'm so happy for you!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and your partner! =D
ReplyDeleteYAY A BABY!!!
Congratulations, that is wonderrful news and you look very very happy!
ReplyDeleteLaughing at the comment above about planning your wardrobe around access to your breasts if you breast feed... Yep, the sartorial challenge doesn't end with the birth! xxxx
I think I will become a nudist and be done with the clothing woes!
DeleteOh my GOSH! As I drove into work on Saturday afternoon, I spotted a lady who I thought for a moment may have been you. I wondered how you were, and if you'd managed to get pregnant yet. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this post! What wonderful news, congratulations to you both xoxx Love from Claire, Chomby-bun and Lola-bun xxx
ReplyDeleteBun buns!
DeleteStep away from the boring clothes, you could never look dull though. You look stunning in these photos. Keep searching, see what the op shops have!
ReplyDeleteBoring is the enemy my kindred spirit.
DeleteOH MY GOSH!!!! Congrats on the wonderful news!!! I am so happy for the two of you. I have missed your post tremendously and all I want is to give you a great big hug!! Don't you worry about not fitting into anything, Im sure you would look gorgeous even in a set of sweatpants. I can't wait to see your baby bump grow as the days go....I wish you all the best during this happy time. Im glad you are back. I don't have a facebook so I hope to hear more of you on your wonderful blog
ReplyDeleteLove always,
Mrs Lili Jaime
What wonderful news—congratulations!
