be in style, I'm featured

I was very flattered to be asked to appear as one
of the "Best of the Web - Style Blogs of the Week"
on Be in Style fashion blog.

I don't feel like I've been blogging for that long, or
that I'm particularly established yet, and I'm still finding
my feet/niche/reason-for-blogging, so I'm always very
shocked when I recieve an email request like this.

I forget that people actually view it, it's more like a scrapbook
for myself, where I record my daily outfits to see what worked
and what didn't. Each outfit sparks another idea, looks evolve, items
get tweaked and altered, accessories are added or subtracted.

It's interesting, as I studied writing and editing, but I could never
genuinely get into it, hence I hardly ever pen anything of substance
on here. A colleague mentioned one day that I remind her of her
daughter, a graphic designer, in the way that I'm a very visual person.
Then the penny dropped, I love making pretties.

I've been thinking about doing a bit of study pertaining to photography
and photo editing. It is frustrating to not be able to produce the images
I would like to, due to lack of technical knowledge.

  3. Wow, congrats!! I know what you mean, too, about not being able to get photos I want. Mainly, pertaining to size.... I want to delve into HTML coding so I can make things exactly as I see them in my head. :)

  6. Wow! Congrats!!!!! You're so lucky to be able to post as often as you do and your pics always look great. I don't have anyone to take my pics and I basically wear a uniform everyday, so there's nothing worth photographing during the week.

I have pretty good photo editing skills but I have a very shitty camera! If you're going to look into learning photo editing, I'd recommend using pixlr.com and befunky.com (instead of spending loads on PhotoShop). I do a lot of graphic design at work (I designed, built, and maintain the library website) and I use those tools all the time (FREE!).
